Summit Begins...
The Entrepreneur Wealth Building Summit began with Mike personally greeting every participant. Once people got settled, they were an energetic opening by musician Brotha James, singing songs including “Not My Mind” and “Animal”.
Once the energy levels were raised, there was an introduction of the 1Life Fully Lived Founder Tim Rhode and event facilitator Mike McCarthy.
Mike then welcomed participants to the Birthplace of Freedom – built around the concept of entrepreneurial freedom. Mike’s job as a facilitator was to guide conversations over the next few days and help remind participants how special and unique they are. Mike kicked things off by asking a thought-provoking question: Have you ever been to an event and you met 1 person that changed your life?

1Life Fully Lived is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization started in 2011 that gives people of all ages and backgrounds the tools to achieve success! By leveraging the knowledge and support of our community, we provide tools and training in vision planning, finances, wellness, and relationships.
1Life Fully Lived provides youth and adults with a roadmap for the business of their life. Armed with a roadmap that connects passion, purpose, and direction in their lives people will care about living their best lives and help others do the same.

Gratitude Exercise: take a deep breath, put your hand on your heart, and visually go to a moment in your life that you can feel extremely grateful for and bring that gratitude into your heart. Live in that moment

You don’t have to be the smartest or the most athletic. What you need to do is push forward in the face of adversity and be someone that makes things happen.

Topic: What’s Holding You Back?
Questions lead us to enlightenment. Realizing this, she asked the audience: “What is it that you’ve really been desiring to achieve but haven’t yet? Why? What’s holding you back?”
Get clear with this question. What is your WHY?
Entrepreneurship is a journey in personal transformation.
You must be in a constant state of growth or you will fail.
Every new elevation we reach is a new perspective that shifts.
When you master YOURSELF you master your LIFE.
Every single choice is in your control.
Every choice you make is defining where you are going.

Presenter - Norma Lafonte
Topic: It’s not about how much you make, it’s how you manage it – Teach Your Kids The 1Life Financials.
We rarely talk to our kids the “right” way about money, and that has created many issues.
Open up a strong dialogue with your children in regards to money and finance.
Managing money is a system of rules around how you receive it. So get them started as young as possible in learning all aspects of saving and investing.

Topic: The Journey To Level 5 Success
Never be afraid to fail because it helps to accelerate your growth in all areas
Go out and find someone who is crushing it and ask to help them – every good business person wants motivated people with good work ethic and talent.
Be someone that will do whatever it takes.
Be decisive and do the right thing.
Have a positive attitude.
Test small things first to find out what
you are good at.
Group Exercises - Connecting to Purpose
Mike asked the audience to shout out what qualities they thought would foster growth and learning over the course of the next two days. The group responded by offering the following answers:
*Being Present *Curious *Active Listener *Good Listener *Focus *Good Habits *Teachable *Vulnerable *Open *Challenge Fears *Play Full Out *Live Healthy *Willing to Be Wrong
Mike then had the group break into Groups of three, where they each shared 1-2 minutes. Volunteers from the audience then shared their own answers or what they learned from others. The main concept here was: “Teaching through acknowledgment”. By sharing the answers of another to the rest of the group it solidifies the concept for the one presenting and informs the entire group at the same time.
Discovering Strength
“Sharing Stories of Adversity” & “Discover the Gifts in Adversity”
Mike instructed participants to write answers individually and gave the group 2 minutes to do so. He then broke the groups into small groups of 3 and asked each person to share for 1-2 minutes.
Volunteers from the audience then shared their own answers or what they learned from others.
Know and Let Go
You don’t have to hold on to negative emotions and experiences – simply choose to have a better or more hopeful feeling.
Use this exercise as a way to list out everything that is weighing down your mind and potential and then burn it (or find another means of disposal).
The ritual of letting go can be freeing.
Participants took 3 minutes to make this list and the purposefully discard!
Future Hacking 2023
To utilize the Power of Visualization, Mike walked the audience through a lengthy exercise in relaxation.
Stand up if physiology is tired in order to keep the mind focused.
Participants asked vividly visualize where they will be 5 years in the future: sights, smells, sounds, and feelings at that moment.
After the exercise, each audience member as asked to write down all the images and feelings they experienced in a pure stream of consciousness.
Volunteers from the audience then shared their own visions for 5 years in the future.
Intention Pictures Exercise
Mike presented an exercise to help the group connect more deeply with nature by having them select an image that called to them.
By trusting their heart, creativity, and presence, it helped guide them towards a photo that held a deeper meaning.
Mike also offered a question for the group to consider: When you imagine your life in the future, flourishing and living at your best, what are the qualities and energies embodied within it?
The beauty in having a picture represent the comparison between how to see oneself in the future and how that can be observed in a picture in nature (because they hold such meaning).
After grabbing a photo they had an opportunity to share their discoveries and meanings with a partner (and were instructed to choose someone they had not yet spoken to).
Crowd Sourced Wisdom
For this exercise, instead of dividing members into groups who know about specific topics, Mike decided to bring random topics amongst the group as a whole so all could share and hear everything that the whole group had to say.
Questions in the workbook were filled out individually, then each participant came up with 1 -2 topics they identified as knowing well enough to speak about or teach a key lesson on. These topics were then shared with one other partner to determine which ones would be most valuable to the entire group. Once this was complete, the smaller groups then joined others to create larger groups of 6 to 8, and each participant had 3 minutes to share the information they voted up. At this point, half-Page post-its were handed out so they could be written on to include:
- A heading that listed a lesson/title
- A more descriptive teachable moment or key lesson underneath
- Each member of the group added their post-it to a whiteboard
Hearing how something actually worked, and the action that was taken on, is extremely valuable since it’s no longer just theory. It invites a lot of voices into the discussion which leads to a healthier outcome. They were able to find the STORY and the WISDOM within themselves.
Finally, the groups were asked to stand in a circle as the symmetry brought them more together (circles bring better connection and physiology). The Post-Its were voted on and the one with the most votes was shared out loud to everyone.
Wrap-Up – The Closing Circle
The event ended with the entire group forming a large circle. The Closing Circle is a tradition which leads to expressions of heartfelt thanks, thoughtful appreciation, and primary lessons being shared by anyone feeling the urge to speak.
There were many great shares from the group, and everyone that wanted to speak about a topic got their chance. Many people shared about the lessons they learned, some shared about how they plan to implement what they learned while at the summit, and others simply shared about how grateful they were to be a part of the entire experience.
